New turnstiles for the Moscow Metro
Infomatika has become the official supplier of new fare gates for the Moscow MetroInfomatika, a company specializing in the development of high-tech access control equipment and ticketing systems, has signed an offset contract with the Moscow Government to supply more than 4,500 new fare gates for the Moscow Metro, the Moscow Central Circle (MCC), and the Moscow Central Diameters (MCD).
The next-generation fare gates will appear in the capital’s metro as early as this year. They will be equipped with the most advanced payment systems, including biometric solutions. In addition, they will feature LED indicators showing payment status, haptic feedback for visually impaired passengers, two-way passage capability, and convenient validation zones for digital payment methods. Thanks to their improved design, the new devices will increase station throughput by up to 40%. These innovations have never been implemented anywhere in the world and could become an industry standard in the future as well as a hallmark of the technological excellence of Moscow’s transport system.

The company’s solutions have been successfully used for many years across transport infrastructure facilities throughout the country. Smart fare gates and transport card top-up terminals have been installed in the metro systems of Kazan, Samara, Yekaterinburg, Novosibirsk, and Moscow. In the capital, for example, innovative fare gates have also been deployed at the piers of the city’s electric river transport. All access control devices from the Kazan-based manufacturer feature modern design, well-thought-out ergonomics, and support all fare payment methods — from traditional to the most advanced.
Infomatika’s ticketing systems are installed at many of the largest sports venues from Kaliningrad to Vladivostok, while the company’s self-service terminals are used daily by millions of citizens in public service centers (MFC) and healthcare facilities.
“The decision to conclude the offset contract for the supply of new fare gates was made by Sergey Sobyanin. Under the agreement, by 2031, more than 4,500 new fare gates will be installed at metro stations, the Moscow Central Circle, and the Moscow Central Diameters. They will increase station throughput by up to 40 percent. The new fare gates are not only about modern design, but also about technologies that speed up passenger flow and make the experience more comfortable for everyone, including passengers with reduced mobility,” noted Maxim Liksutov, Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Transport and Industry.
Infomatika will become a new resident of the special economic zone (SEZ) Technopolis Moscow. At the Alabushevo site, the company will build a 6,900-square-meter plant for large-scale production of innovative fare gates and related equipment. The launch of production is scheduled for the second quarter of 2027.
The fare gate equipment to be produced at the plant is the company’s own design. According to David Tartakovsky, General Director of Infomatika, the company highly values its cooperation with the Moscow Government and the trust it has been given. The proposed support measures are truly effective and help implement investment projects in challenging economic conditions. The launch of a full-cycle plant in the Technopolis Moscow SEZ will take product quality to a new level and accelerate production output.
