Lukoil Arena, Moscow

Lukoil Arena (Otkritie Bank Arena) is the home stadium of FC Spartak Moscow, with a capacity of 45,360 spectators. It is Moscow’s second-largest football stadium by capacity, after Luzhniki.

In 2022, new requirements for spectator access to sports venues made it necessary to upgrade the stadium’s existing ticketing and access control infrastructure and integrate it with the Fan Identification System (FIS).

Infomatika was responsible for the following tasks:

• Upgrade the spectator access control system to meet FIS requirements;
• Integrate the stadium’s ticketing and access control system with FIS;
• Upgrade entrance equipment to support new access control scenarios;
• Ensure the required level of information security;
• Allow for further development of the stadium’s access control infrastructure.

Infomatika carried out a comprehensive upgrade of the spectator access control system based on the LENTA automated system. The project included implementation of SEACS LENTA, adapted to FIS requirements, an upgrade of the entrance infrastructure, and integration with FIS.

Key Project Components

• SEACS LENTA. Automates verification of stadium access rights and controls entrance equipment. The software is deployed on a fault-tolerant server cluster.
• Full-Height Turnstiles. Both dual-lane and single-lane full-height turnstiles are installed at the entrances. The equipment features interactive control modules for entry and exit, along with monitoring devices, in accordance with FIS requirements.
• Full-Height Gates. Provide access for visitors with reduced mobility and feature the equipment required to operate within the upgraded access control system.
• Network Switching Equipment. Connects system components and enables data transmission within the spectator access control infrastructure.

Integration

SEACS LENTA is integrated with the Fan Identification System. To ensure information security, Infomatika specialists developed a threat model and an adversary model and added an information security subsystem to the spectator access control system.

Following the new requirements, fans, sponsors, media journalists and even athlets are allowed to access the stadium only upon presentation of a Fan Card to ensure maximum security during the game.

The upgrade was carried out in accordance with Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs Order No. 1092 dated November 17, 2015, and Russian Ministry of Sport Order No. 676 dated August 22, 2022.

Scope of Work in 2022:

•         detailed engineering design;

•         simulation of threat and intruder;

•        equipping the fault-tolerant server cluster with SEACS Lenta;

•         integration with FIS;

•        supply, installation, commissioning of 50 two-pass and 24 one-pass full-height turnstiles, 10 full-height gates for handicapped people and equipping them with interactive control modules (for entrance and exit) and monitoring devices in accordance with FIS requirements;

•         supply, installation, commissioning of switching equipment;

•         SEACS LENTA enhancement with IPS (information protection subsystem).

Following the new requirements, fans, sponsors, media journalists and even athlets are allowed to access the stadium only upon presentation of a Fan Card to ensure maximum security during the game.

Implemented in 2025:

In 2025, as part of the ongoing development of the stadium's infrastructure, specialists from Infomatika equipped the entrance area of the Platinum+ restaurant, located on the arena grounds—with smart access control turnstiles.

The Platinum+ restaurant serves guests during matches and events. Due to high foot traffic, there was a need to implement a reliable and secure entry system for the venue.

To address this, the restaurant’s entrance was fitted with Flagman Light smart turnstiles — two passageways built on a three-post configuration. The project included manufacturing, installation, and a full suite of commissioning works.

The turnstiles support contactless cards, barcodes, QR codes, as well as BLE and NFC tags, ensuring convenience for all types of visitors.
